15/09/07 BOLDMERE 1 - 1 REDDITCH UTD JEWELS
Boldmeres first home game of the season was an evenly contested match. Both defences were in command in a goalless first half.
After the break Redditch soon took the lead when striker SAVAGE rounded the Boldmere keeper to slot into the net .This gaol galvanised Boldmere who then pushed forward creating several good chances, but it was not until minutes from time that "defender" turned "striker" CHEYENNE HAYES rifled in a low left footed strike to secure a deserved draw.
GEORGIA BENNET had another impressive game in midfield and was Boldmeres player of the match
22/09/07 SOLIHULL BOROUGH 3 - 1 BOLDMERE
An entertaining first half with chances at both ends ended goalless as both defences held firm.
After the interval Boldmere took the lead when HOLLY WHEELDON ran into the area to slide the ball past the Solihull keeper. However Solihull were soon level when they scored direct from a well taken corner. Both teams then pushed for the winner and it was Solihull with two late goals that claimed the points
DANIELLE EDMONDS who defended brilliantly throughout was named player of the week
29/09/06 BOLDMERE 1 WARRIORS 3
Boldmere search for an elusive first victory continues.
Having gone 1-0 up through Charlotte Payne and piling on the pressure Warriors broke to make it 1-1 at half time. Again blood and guts for the second 10 minutes until Warriors went 2-1 then 3-1 up in quick succession, Boldmere struggling against their tricky no7
Searching for the consolation 2nd goal Boldmere tried but to no avail.
The big crowd were entertained throughout with excellent football.
06/10/07 Boldmere 0 Alveston 1
Alveston came to Boldmere having scored 19 conceded 1 and unbeaten. In the first 5 minutes a deflected goal from a corner gave the a 1 nil lead. Olivia Bridgewater-smith had a few good chances but luck was not to be on our side. Rebecca Henderson went close with a blistering volley. After half time Boldmere threw caution to the wind and played with 3 up front but to no avail. Excellent effort ,our first win not far away.
Girl of the week Rebecca Henderson
03/11/07 BOLDMERE FALCONS 1 COUNDON COURT 2 AET.
Boldmere snatched defeat from the jaws of victory as the search for the elusive first victory goes on. From the kick off BOLDMERE took total control of the game and having dominated the first 20 minutes finally took the lead when a GEORGIA BENNET driven corner was deflected into the COUNDON net.Several other good chances to extend the lead were missed before on the stroke of half-time COUNDON capatalised on a rare excursion into the BOLDMERE half to equalise. The second half was a much tighter affair with both defeces holding firm, so into extra time. In extra time BOLDMERE came out strong and dominated the game but could not find that all important last touch. So it was with the dreaded " penalties " only minutes away that a COUNDON shot eluded the grasp of keeper GEORGIA COX to give the away team the victory.
HOLLY WHELDON was named player of the week for her tirless effort in midfield.
10/11/07 BOLDMERE FALCONS 2 STRATFORD TOWN 1
Boldmere captured their first victory of the season with a hard fought win over Stratford Town. Following the minute silence which was impeccably observed by all present, it was Stratford who were immediately on the attack.
Due to illness and injury, Boldmere had to start the game with just ten players but the defence marshalled by ELISHA DAVIS and DANIELLE EDMONDS held firm. The Arrival of eleventh player GEORGIA COX lifted the girls and following several Boldmere attacks they were awarded a penalty which GEORGIA BENNET struck against the post.
Boldmere continued to dominate, and following a series of corners, took the lead when the Stratford goalkeeper, under pressure from GEORGIA COX carried the ball across her own goal line (1-0). Into the second half, both teams pressed forward and following an unfortunate ricochet in the Boldmere area Stratford equalised (1-1). This goal seemed to galvanise the Boldmere side who then took total control of the match.
Strong running from midfield by HOLLY WHELDON, REBBECA HENDERSON and CHEYENNE HAYES ensured plenty of ball and good link-up play between CHARLOTTE PAYNE and GEORGIA BENNET resulted in several clear chances which just could not be finished.
Finally the decisive goal arrived when a beautifully flighted cross to the far post picked out CHEYENNE HAYES who stroked the ball into the empty net (2-1). Boldmere saw out the remaining minutes with GEORGIA DANKS and FIONA HARRISON keeping things tight in front of keeper HOLLY DOWELL, who made a faultless performance in goal.
Player of the week was GEORGIA COX who played on, with injury, to help the rest of her team mates to a deserved win.
17/11/07 Boldmere Falcons 2 Coundon Court 0
2 wins on the bounce ,what next Europe??
our previous meeting with Couldon 2 weeks previous we lost in extra time so we were both aware of each others strengths ad weaknesses.
First 10 Couldon came out the traps like caged lions but our defence with our new stand in keeper Holly Dowall and marshalled by Elisha Davis,Danielle Edmonds and Sophia Zizzi held them off.
Finally our midfield got into their rhythm and our wide 2 Cheyenne Hayes and Shannon McLennan pepperred their box with crosses , their hard work finally paid off when a corner from Georgia Bennett was sweetly swept into the net by the impressive Rebecca Henderson.
Half time 1.0
Second half and the midfield battle was swaying our way again Sophia Barritt and Georgia Cox aiding a fresh Rhiannon Walk in snapping at their heels.
Good work again paid off with a fine solo effort from Olivia Bridgewater-Smith.
Charlotte Payne went close later on but Couldon held us off.
Girl of the Week Rebecca Henderson
Crowd 12 and 1 dog
Mr McLaren keep my seat warm!!!
24/11/07 Coventry City 3 Boldmere Falcons 0
Fresh from consecutive wins, Boldmere came up against a very strong, high flying Coventry team. The game kicked off in very cold wet, windy conditions and from the kick off, Coventry scored immediately when a long distance shot looped into the net. Worse was to follow as Coventry soon extended their lead to 2-0.
However at this point, the Boldmere side rallied and gradually fought their way back into the game. The defence lead by Elisha Davis and Danielle Edmonds got to grips with the Coventry forwards and the midfield got into the game. Coventry were still creating chances and some good saves from Holly Dowell kept them at bay.
At the other end, Boldmere also, through the running of Charlotte Payne and Georgia Bennett, created several good chances. The Half time whistle blew with the scores at 2-0.
Into the second half Boldmere battled well and again created several clear cut chances against a strong Coventry defence. However, the chances could not be converted and it was Coventry who had the final say to finish the game 3-0 winners.
All Boldmere players showed total commitment in the difficult conditions and should be proud of their performance.
Player of the week was Goalie Holly Dowell for an excellent performance including one fantastic one-handed save when the ball looked to be in the net.
01/12/07 Boldmere 2 Redditch Jewels 1
Having waited on the m42 for nearly an hour kick-off was delayed and Boldmere went into the match with a quick warm-up and little team talk.
Redditch seizing on this opportunity scored wiyhin 2 minutes and would of extended the lead had Holly Dowell our keeper not been in such good form. Both teams created chances but Boldmere gioing in at half-time 1-0 down
Second half a much better effort and our pressure paid off when Charlotte Payne shot low and hard beating their keeper. Redditch pushed and somehow didnt score , only rugged defending from the Whole team playing a 8 - 1 -1 formation for th last 5. With 2 mnutes to go I would of been happy with the draw but our girls had differrent ideas and from a corner Shannon McLennan passed to Charlotte Payne for her second and the eventual winner.
A sterling effort by all the girls and great tenacity from the parents in a frustrating journey.
Girl of the week Sophia Zizzi , defended like a female Alan Hansen
22/12/07 Marston Green 2 Boldmere Falcons 2
Boldmere and Marston Green produced a real Christmas Cracker as they fought out a highly entertaining 2-2 draw.
From the kick off Marston Green were given an early Chritmas Present from the referee as he awarded a dubious penalty kick which was gleefully dispatched to give the home team the lead. This early set back seemed to galvanise the Boldmere side who then took charge of the game.Sophia Barrett and Holly Wheldon were running the midfield and soon chances began to arrive for the Boldmere attack.Following a piece of skillfull trickery by Georgia Bennett, her cross shot was deflected to give Boldmere a deserved equaliser. The defence marshalled by Elisha Davis and Danielle Edmonds were now well on top of the Marston Green attack and on their odd visit to the Boldmere half, Georgia Danks and Sophia Zizzi were covering well.
Boldmere continued to push forward down the flanks with Cheyenne Hayes and Rhiannon Walk (sporting her festive head wear) working well and following some good hold up play by Rebecca Henderson the ball eventually fell to Georgia Cox who smashed a right foot drive into the corner of the net. Boldmere could have extended the lead even further when a good run fron Olivia Bridgewater-Smith saw her get clear of the Marston defence only for the goalkeeper to pull off an excellent save.
Half time Marston Green 1 Boldmere Falcons 2
The second half saw Marston Green take advantage of the slope and but for goalkeeper Holly Dowell producing a string of excellent saves they would have equalised. As the game went on more pressure was being exerted by the lively Marston Green attack but good defending by Fiona Harrison and her colleagues kept them at bay until a well taken cross shot eventually broke the Boldmere Defence.
Both teams battled to the final whistle and can be proud of their performance.
Player of the Week was Danielle Edmonds for her John Terry like defensive performance.
19.01.08 Boldmere Falcons 3 Redditch Utd Gems 1
The game kicked off on a muddy pitch but no sign of the downpour forecast , the previous meeting had seen a very entertaining 3-3 draw.
Boldmere drew first blood when Olivia Bridgewater-Smith scored after good work from Rebecca Henderson and Holly Weldon.
Within 2 minutes Charlotte Payne put us 2-0 up after a good interception by Georgia Bennett.
Further pressure and a break down te left from Cheyenne Hayes well supported by Sophia Barritt and Olivia made it 3-0.
Redditch woke up and a 35 yard screamer unsighting Holly Dowall our keeper and 3-1 it was.
Second half substitues Rhiannon Walk and Fiona Harrison came to the support the now overworked back 3 of Elisha Davis,Danelle Edmonds and Sophi Zizzi.
Stalemate ensued and 2 good efforts by Shannon Mclennan were well saved by their keeper.
Good result well earned.
16/02/08 Boldmere Falcons 1 – Solihull Borough 0
On a cold frosty morning, kick off was delayed to enable the pitch to thaw. However, when play did commence, it was the Boldmere side, driven by the midfield of Sophia Barritt, Holly Wheldon and Georgia Bennett, which took control. It was no surprise that Boldmere took the lead when Charlotte Payne beat the keeper with a well placed shot in the corner of the net to give Boldmere a half time lead.
Into the second half Boldmere’s defence of Sophia Zizzi, Elisha Davis and Danielle Edmonds stood firm leaving Holly Dowell, in goal, with little to do.
Final Score 1-0
Player of the week Danielle Edmonds
15/03/08 Aston Villa 1 – Boldmere Falcons 1
Both teams played an entertaining draw. Boldmere took the lead late in the second half when Charlotte Payne coolly swatted a penalty awarded for pushing in the area. However, Aston Villa equalised from a disputed penalty awarded in stoppage time.
Elisha Davis was player of the week for a captains performance but all players must take great credit from their efforts; especially Holly Wheldon and Rhiannon Walk who battled on when injured.
05/04/08 COUNDON COURT 0 BOLDMERE FALCONS 1
Boldmere won a hard fought victory courtesy of a long range strike from
SOPHIA BARRIT early in the first half. Boldmere battled hard against a
strong wind in the second half and their defence held firm to secure the
win.
Player of the week was GEORGIA DANKS for a sound defensive
performance including a last ditch goal line clearance
