26/01/08 Warriors 6 Boldmere Falcons Girls U15s 0
This was not a game of two halves (Brian) - but a pitch of two halves. Swamp on one half, with 4 mud baths, the other half amost perfect. (if not a tad yielding)
At 10.25 the home team shifted the Hippo's out of the mud baths
At 10.30 the game started - at 10.30.32 we wrer 1-0 down.
10.35 2-0 down.
We were quite frankly being overrun. But full credit to the team, we slowly came back into the game Yet had the stuffing knocked out of us with a third goal on the stroke of half time. The second half saw an improved performance, yet we somehow contrived to allow Warriors to score a Further three goals.
0-6 then, a bad day at the office. Fish got tackled and ended up in one of the Hippo mud baths. Jess Morris was Girl of The Match.

16/02/08 Boldmere Falcons 1 - 4 Wardon Village
A game of three goalies and a host of missed chances!
On a defrosting pitch, faultless effort proved fruitless as Wardon took a two-nil lead. Fish converted our hardest chance by lobbing the keeper from 12 yards. Yet we went in 3-1 down at the break.
Dispite breaching the away defence numerous times we failed to convert our chances which inturn was our downfall. Gangsta respect to Abbie, Fish & Tanya for each taking a turn guarding the 'onion bag' with distinction.
We welcomed Shannel to the team who nearly scored from a few chances. Welcome to the world of the offside rule!
Namoi was named by the referee as his GOM and Fish was GOM for the parents. (Goalscorer, Odd Goalie & Midfield player)
Oh and we lost 4-1...........

23/02/08 BOLDMERE FALCONS 0 - 2 WYRLEY JUNIORS
'Never in the face of human'... muttered a bloke called Churchill
(no, not the nodding dog in the insurance advert) in respect of beating adversity.
Playing the league leaders who had beaten us 8-1 and had a average 10-1 winning result ratio to date. We may have once again lost to Wyrely, yet we are sure they knew we gave them a game.
2-0 down at half time, we could have capitulated against very strong opposition, yet the girls stuck to the game plan, (even if Tanya the Terminator took the instructions quite literately) - got stronger as the game went on and took encouragement from the challenge.
Even in defeat there were numerous positives to be taken from this display.
They were a credit!
Shannel in only her second game was named by the referee as GOM and Kerry was parents GOM. If any future GOM's would like to share their GOM goodies at the end of any game - don't let us stop you!

01/03/08 FERNDALE 4 - 1 BOLDMERE FALCONS
Once again a result which flattered to decieve.
Fernadale took a two goal lead, yet once again the girls raised their game with Jess Hill taking advantage of the wind to score direct from a corner.
The second half produced a fine battling performance, our attempts to play football should be commended and will put us in good stead for the rest of the seson. Ferndale scored two late goals to complete the scoring.
Abbie (flu) & Fish (leg injury) created a record in substituting each other during the game.
Naomi was the ref's GOM. Roz was parents GOM. We still await a GOM to 'crash the goodies'. (hint)

08/03/08 ALVECHURCH LIONS 0 - 2 BOLDMERE FALCONS
A disciplined and determined performance saw Boldmere claim all three points.
Playing with a stong gusting wind a well taken goal by Naomi gave us a 1-0 half time lead.
Jess Hill scored a excellent second after half time, yet the result (once again) does not do justice to the excellent performance especially in the second half when we endeavoured to play football, not only against the opposition but the elements.
Naomi was once again referee's GOM (keep it going) and Jess Hill led by example and was parents GOM.
After four defeats on the bounce if a certain Mr Keegan needs advice - you know where we are.......

15/03/08 BOLDMERE FALCONS 9 - 0 ALCESTER 2000
Goals from Naomi Hunter 2, Jess Morris 2, Rachel Spragg 2, Charlotte Bate 2 and Jess Hill gave Boldmere a emphatic victory against a depleted but sprited Alcester side. The margin could have been greater if not for a host of missed chances.
Rachel was parents GOM and little Jess Morris was the referee's GOM.
All in all a rewarding game with no player injuries to report. However, concern was expressed as to the extent of Mrs J Morris's 'cold shoulder'. Let's hope is thaw's out over the Easter break.

29/03/08 PERRYWOODS YOUTH 0 - 2 BOLDMERE FALCONS
Another windy day, another away victory.
Defending against the wind in the first half, Perrywood were restricted to long range shots which stand in keeper Abbie took in her stride. (two shots hit the post and two the crossbar).Yet Naomi won a penalty and El Capitano Jess Hill took the pressure kick to give a half time lead.
Second half we played some excellent football and as we grew in confidence Rosie scored a second goal late in the second half after good approach play.
The girls were magnificent. The home supporters demanded another six goal drubbing (as last December), Sorry to dissappoint.......
Abbie was parents GOM and Tania was the ref's GOM.
They blew bubbles all the way home!

05/04/08 BOLDMERE FALCONS 5 - 0 BALSALL & BERKSWELL
Fish was at school Friday studying Trigonometry.
She had a thought....... If Jess Hill crosses her excellent corners into the box and I head it at ninety degrees to the flight of the ball I might score............
And score she did, rising like a salmon with three headed goals - a fine hat-trick & all from corners!
Jess Hill scored another penalty and Rachel managed to score from open play with a deflected shot. The team kept their fourth clean sheet in sucession.
Fish was quite rightly parents GOM and Rosie the referees GOM.

12/04/08 BOLDMERE FALCONS 1 - 5 FERNDALE
This was always going to be a testing game against a team vying for the title.
And so it proved to be with Ferndale scoring two late goals which flattered the scoreline. Nevertheless, the team battled on and caused Ferdale no end of problems. Special credit to Sharks who battled well against an outstanding striker.
Kerry was named by the referee as GOM & Little Jess Morris the parents GOM.
Watch out for the triangle award next week!

19/04/08 RUBERY 0 - 5 BOLDMERE FALCONS
19/04/08 BOLDMERE FALCONS 5 - 0 RUBERY
A day of Deja Vu & another cold biting windy day. well the cricket season has started)
In order to reduce the fixture backlog both games were played back to back with the same result. Boldmere dominated both games and played at times a bizzare 2-5-3 system with notable goals from Mel, Tania, Altonia and Kerry's shin.
Little Jess Morris huffed, puffed, & stomped but couldn't find the back of the net. She was last seen looking at a £5 note doing 70mph on the M42.
Goalscorers, Altonia 2, Abbie, Tanya, Naomi, Melissa, Fish, Rosie and Kerry 2
Ros & Sharks were collective GOM's

26/04/08 BOLDMERE FALCONS 1 - 0 LEAMINGTON LIONS
When spectators say 'it was a cracking game' then you know you were in a game.
With credit to Leamington they started the game their league position warranted by attacking from the start. Slowly but surely Boldmere turned the tables from defence to attack. growing in confidence with the game turning to our advantage. Altonia slotted the winning goal with 69 mins on the clock. Every girl was a player of the day today, and don't you know it.
However, Altonia (who else with that finish) was parents GOM & Sharks was the ref's GOM.
PS... The dog is supposed to tackle the opposition! (not Fish)

03/05/08 PERRYWOODS 0 - 1 BOLDMERE FALCONS
We made hard work of this game, but battled well to earn a deserved win although should have scored more, some great goalkeeping and too much dilly dallying on the ball.
Abbie should have scored goal of the season after a breath taking run down the right beating half of the perrywoods team but was denied by a good save. The pitch (bog) played it's part.
Jess M was parents player and Fish was referee's player of the game.

10/05/08 ALCESTER 2000 0 - 12 BOLDMERE FALCONS
On a hot humid morning more suited to playing cricket. Boldmere attempted to run up a cricket score by accumlating our highest win of the season.
Notable goalscorers were Rachel, Jess Hill, a brace from Altonia and Naomi and four from our flying Fish - one of which was from a header. Abbie Completed the scoring.
Mel had a runout up front and maintained her 100 per cent outfield goalscoring record, courtesy of her knee.
She was duly named parents GOM. Fish was the referees GOM.

17/05/08 BOLDMERE FALCONS 7 - 4 SOLIHULL BOROUGH A
And so after nine months it came to pass, or due to the lack of them (passes) it very nearly didn't. Going in 4-2 down at half time due to some erratic defending and general malaise. The team raised the stakes in the second half to run out 7-4 winners. Fish clinched leading goalscorer with another four goal haul pipping Jess Hill who also netted one Naomi & Nicole completed the scoring.
Abbie was named parents player of the match

A huge thank you to all the girls for the effort put in this season, our final league position will be quite high and they should take great credit for that. Thanks also for the parents taking the time to travel to away games - of which were some distance away.

So we will see you all next September setting up those goalposts under the watchful supervision of lady Di.
