Boldmere Falcon S&S Under 8's have won the Lichfield and District Regional League Division B Title.
Well done to all the players on a superb season
A Message from Norton Canes Manager:
Well done from all Players and staff at Norton Canes U/8s for pipping us at the post for the league Tital.
Best Regards Scott Joyce u/8s Manager
Boldmere Falcons S&S Under 8's travelled nearly 230 miles to take part in the Looe Bay Football tournament over the May Bank holiday and were rewarded as they finished runners up in an 8 team group.
The tournament was attended by teams from all over the UK and was a great way for the Boldmere players to celebrate at the end of their League winning season.
Matches took place over 2 days amidst the beautiful Cornwall scenery with Boldmere's record of 3 wins, 3 draws and only 1 defeat by a solitary goal to eventual group winners Stoke Damarell B, enough to give them the runners up spot.
The players attended a truly spectacular Presentation on the Sunday evening and were each presented with a superb trophy from former Welsh International and Everton goalkeeper Neville Southall.
The Under 8's were accompanied on the tour by 2 more Boldmere teams who were a credit to Sutton Coldfield and their club with the Under 11's also runner's up and the Under 7's awarded the Most Sporting Team in their respective age groups.
The coaches, players and parents would like to thank their sponsors Toyota World and Sutton Coldfield Municipal Charities for the funding that allowed the team to enter this prestigious end of season tournament.
Results:
Plymstock Utd 0 Boldmere Falcons S&S 0
Keeper Daniel Baldock kept Boldmere in the game with some terrific saves in the first half. Boldmere took control of the second half and Frankie Barrett went close as Boldmere started well.
Bristol Spartak 0 Boldmere Falcons S&S 3
A brace from Ethan Caballero and a Niall Brennan goal gave the Falcons a deserved first win.
Looe Juniors 0 Boldmere Falcons S&S 3
Matthew Brown hit home from close range early on and Niall Brennan added a second with Jake Freeman getting his first goal for Boldmere in another comprehensive win.
Stoke Damarell B 1 Boldmere Falcons S&S 0
A goal conceded near the end of the second half brought Boldmere's only defeat to the eventual winners. There was very little between the teams as Declan Whiting went closest for Boldmere.
Bidford Juniors 1 Boldmere Falcons S&S 1
Niall Brennan scored towards the end of the second period as Boldmere started the first game on Sunday. With only seconds to go Bidford broke away as Boldmere attacked and equalised.
Stoke Damarell C 1 Boldmere Falcons S&S 1
Stoke C gave Boldmere their hardest game of the tournament and had Lewis Barratt and Bradley Priddey to thank for keeping them in the game.
Niall Brennan gave Boldmere the lead in the first half but that was quickly followed up by a superb equaliser from well outside the box.
Stoke Damarell A 0 Boldmere Falcons S&S 1
Boldmere went into the game needing to win to gain the runner's up position and left it very late as some good work from Frankie Barrett and Declan Whiting set up Niall Brennan to score the winning goal and cap off a brilliant and enjoyable weekend.
Well Done Boldmere Falcons S&S Under 8's
