Boldmere Falcons Colts U9’s: 0

Sutton United Wasps U9’s:   6

The colts struggled against a strong Wasps side and were 0-3 down at half time. Second half was a little more end to end with Wasps converting the chances 0-6 final score. Oliver Nash earned the Man Of The Match award.

Additional report:

A better team performance than last week creating a few more chances but failing to capitalise on the chances we had, allowing the visitors to run away with a strong win. Tireless running in the first half and a good spell in goal in the second half gifted the man of the match award to Oliver Nash.

Oliver Nash the Man Of The Match award.

Boldmere Falcons U9’s: 5

Smiths Wood: 2

Boldmere played some fabulous passing football that delivered a comfortable victory. Superb finishing from Ben Guy(3) and Ryan Cooper rounded off some great team moves. A Man of the match performance from midfielder Ollie Webb  was rounded off with a goal direct from a corner.

Chase Stags U10’s: 1

Boldmere Falcons Colts U10’s: 4

Boldmere continued their fine start to the season with a comprehensive defeat of a very good team. Goals from Ben Caughtry, Will Jones, Jake Freeman and Alistair Wells sealed the victory.

Chase Stags U10’s: 1

Boldmere Falcons Colts U10’s: 4

Boldmere started the game in the mood to continue their unbeaten run. With Will Jones leading the line superbly and Ben Caughtry and Ethan Caballero flying down the wings, it was only a matter of time before Boldmere took the lead.

Ben Caughtry beat his defender and cut in towards goal to smash an unstoppable shot into the far corner. Alistair Wells and George Jenkins were keeping Chase Stags at bay each time they got into the Boldmere half and started attacks by playing some good football out of defence.

Boldmere went 2-0 up after 10 minutes, when a run and shot by Ethan Caballero was parried by the Chase Stags keeper, only for Will Jones to play the poachers role by stabbing the ball home from close range.

Boldmeres third arrived after another great run down the right by Ben Caughtry resulted in the ball being crossed along the floor towards the penalty spot. Jake Freeman showing great composure controlled the ball and shifted it onto his left foot to finish cooly into the corner.

Unfortunately for Boldmere, they then conceded their first goal of the season when a break away from Chase Stags was finished with a great shot, high into the net from the edge of the box, giving Goalie George Smith no chance.

Early in the second half, Ben Caughtry broke down the left and his cross caused an almighty goal mouth scramble. Alistair Wells following up smashed the ball high into the net for a great finish.

Frazer Austin on the right of midfield was a constant threat and almost scored when the ball came to him on the edge of the box, but the Chase keeper made a great save.

Chase came back into the game towards the end, and several dangerous attacks were snuffed out by Brad Priddey, who not only won the ball, but set up several attacks with great passing. On the few occasions Chase Stags got past Brad Priddey and George Jenkins, George Smith in goal dealt with everything comfortably, and despite the lack of action, George kept his concentration superbly.

In a friendly game, both teams deserve praise for playing some good football.

Boldmere had nine players all worthy of Man Of The Match, but it was Ben Caughtry for the second week running, who got it. His powerful play and attacking skills made the difference when the game was close.

Cottage Farm Milan U10's:  1

Boldmere Falcons U10's:  1

Boldmere's first visit to league new comers Cottage Farm. Boldmere got off to a slow start and went 1 down half way through the first half.  The second half saw a marginally better performance from Boldmere. Tommy West chipping the keeper from a great run and cross from Man of the Match Ben Stevens. On reflection a draw was a fair result with nether team hitting top form.

Castle Bromwich United U11’s:  2

Boldmere Falcons U11’s: 5

Boldmere started poorly conceding a sloppy goal within the first few minutes. They equalised soon after but went behind again to another poor goal. The Falcons got themselves back in the game in the last few seconds of the first half. The second half was a different matter as Boldmere completely dominated play scoring a further 3 goals to win comfortably. The goalscorers were Finlay Sadler (2), George Grigg, Joe Webb & Joe Burke. The Roskell Davies Man of The Match was awarded to Joe Webb for a typically rampaging display.

Castle Bromwich United U11’s:  2

Boldmere Falcons U11’s: 5

Boldmere began the game without three defenders due to other commitments and it showed with some extremely sloppy defending gifting Castle Bromwich their first goal when two of their players were left completely unmarked in the middle of the penalty area. The Falcons looked strangely disjointed in the first half however they got themselves back on terms with a well taken finish by Finlay Sadler. Despite dominating most of the play Boldmere again conspired to throw it away giving the home team another goal on one of their rare attacks during the first half. The Falcons then pressed Castle Bromwich back into their own half and after a series of near misses George Grigg maintained his hot scoring streak with another good goal second before the half time whistle.

After a ‘gentle’ chat from the manager the Falcons came out for the second half with much more commitment and from another Exocet missile of a corner from Joe Jobson it was Joe Webb who arrived late in the box to power a superb header past the despairing home keeper. From this point on Boldmere bombarded the Castle Bromwich goal and it was no surprise when both Finlay Sadler scored his second of the game with a superb header followed by Joe Burke with a cleverly directed header. From set plays the Falcons looked deadly and with a little more coolness in open play could have won this game even more convincingly.

During the second half the defence looked much more solid with the lessons learned in the first and it was especially pleasing to see Jamie Lucas commanding & leading the back four as well as help direct the midfield when Boldmere had to defend. Special mention should also be made of Jack Lowe whom played in three different positions doing extremely well in all, even at the unfamiliar position as emergency right back. The Falcons maintain their 100% start to the first season at 11 a side to go top of the table after 3 league games and the signs look extremely good for the future if they maintain their steep learning curve. The Roskell Davies Man Of The Match was awarded to Joe Webb for a typical rampaging display capped by a superb headed goal.
