Additional report:

The Colts stormed into an early 2-0 lead after 6 mins with goals from Filip and Max after some early pressure from the away side. Excellent goal keeping from Oliver Nash kept the score 2-0 at half time. The second half saw the away side put the Colts under more pressure and scored 2 quick goals from poor defending. Ten mins from time the away side stole the ball on the half way line and the winger fired home to make it 2-3, only to see Max get his second of the game when his cross shot rebounded in to make it 3-3. 5 mins from time Max completed his hat-trick with a good low drive passed the keeper. 90 seconds from time the away team again broke down the left and another fierce low drive beat Oliver in goal to make the final result 4-4. Max had one final chance at the end to seal the win but a good save by the keeper kept it at 4-4 draw. Good passing and movement by the Colts showing that they are moving in the right direction. Well done boys.

A hat trick from Ethan Caballero, two from Liam Nevin and two from Man Of The Match Jack Whitehouse helped Boldmere to an impressive victory against a good Lichfield team.

Boldmere Falcon Colts U10's: 7

Lichfield City Spires U10's: 1

The indian summer continues and so does Boldmeres impressive start to the season. Lichfield City Spires were the visiting team and they started the match much better than the home team.

The home team were struggling to control the game in their usual manner and Lichfield went ahead after five minutes with a spectacular 25 yard shot that went high into the net. That seemed to wake up Boldmere, but they still struggled to create any clear cut chances. The best effort being a shot from the edge of the box by Ethan Caballero that hit the bar and went over.

George Smith in goal was commanding and George Jenkins and Brad Priddey along with Alistair Wells in midfield, were keeping Lichfield at bay by defending really well and ultimately, it was this period of play when Boldmere weren't playing well, that the game turned. If Lichfield had been allowed to go two goals ahead, it would have proven difficult to get back. So credit to the defence.

The equaliser came after 15 minutes, when Liam Nevin passed to Ben Caughtry in the area with his back to goal, Ben showed great maturity by passing the ball back to Jake Freeman on the edge of the box, his shot was blocked but it fell to Jack Whitehouse who's first time left foot shot flew into the net.

Suddenly Boldmere were a team transformed and immediately went ahead. Jack Whitehouse and Jake Freeman linked up well on the right hand side and Jacks cross was met by Liam Nevins right foot, his shot hit the crossbar and fell back to Liam to score with his left foot.

Just before half time, Liam Nevin made it 3-1 following another great run by Ben Caughtry.

Just after half time Boldmere went further ahead when Jake Freeman freed Jack Whitehouse on the right hand side of the box, Jack beat his man and fired in a great shot that flew into the net at the near post. Liam Nevin almost scored his hat trick when the ball fell to him following a scramble, but the goalie dived bravely at his feet to save.

Boldmere now had the bit between their teeth and were all over Lichfield. On the few occasions Lichfield threatened, Frazer Austin at the back was outstanding at stopping the attack and starting Boldmere's counter attacks.

Boldmere went 5-1 up when Ben Caughtry beat his man and struck a ferocious shot that the keeper did really well to save, only for Ethan Caballero to pounce on the loose ball and fire it into the top of the net.

Will Jones in the centre of midfield started to impose himself on Lichfield by winning a lot of tackles and spreading the ball to both wings. From one such move, Ethan Caballero crossed the ball into the box and George Jenkins had got himself into a great position at the far post, but his first time shot just went wide.

The sixth goal came after Ethan Caballero had won himself a free kick and took it himself. He fired in an unstoppable shot to score a great free kick. Ben Caughtry and Jake Freeman linked up in midfield to create an opening for Ethan to complete his hat trick, which he did by firing another great shot to complete the scoring.

There were several contenders for Man Of the Match, but Jack Whitehouse deservedly got it for a performance that affected the outcome of the game. He scored the equaliser and had a hand in the next two goals that changed the game.

Boldmere Falcon Colts U11's: 1

Holy Name U11's: 4

Boldmere dominated from the start and went ahead after three minutes. Following this they created 6 or 7 clear chances but failed to convert them. Sloppy defending and lack of concentration in the 2nd half allowed Holy Name to win the match.

Additional Report:

Boldmere Falcon Colts U11's: (1) 1

Holy Name    U11's: (1) 4

Man of the Match:    Reis Brookes (Defender/Midfielder)

Goal Scores:   Brett Brown

This is a game that should have been wrapped-up in the first-half. Boldmere were dominant from the start and went ahead after just three minutes. Following this they had six clear chances when the striker was one-on-one with Holy Names keeper. However Boldmere simply did not convert any of these chances into goals. Holy Name battled their way back into the game and scrambled an equaliser before half time.

In the second –half Boldmere started strongly but once again became sloppy at the back. With defenders not concentrating and midfielders walking back Boldmere once again threw the match away. Players that were strong and effective in the first half just stopped playing in the second. Holy Name took the chances that Boldmere offered to them. Boldmere did still create chances and could so easily have still won. However the poor finishing that stopped them wrapping the match up in the first-half cursed them again in the second.
