2009
Chasetown FC Scolars U9’s: 4
Boldmere Falcons Colts U9’s: 0
Two goals in each half gave the hosts
a comfortable win against a lack lustre Colts team struggling to find
the zest they’ve displayed in pre season. Only a fine display in goal
by man of the match Conor Dardis kept this game from spiralling out
of control.
Additional report:
This was the Colts first game of the season and maybe one to forget as after a good display in the first half was undone by two good goals by the hosts to give them a 2-0 lead at half time. The Colts had chances but failed to convert in an end to end first half. Man of the match Conor Dardis in goal pulled of some fine saves to deny the home team a greater lead.
This second half was a half to forget
as tiredness and the heat got to the boys they struggled to clear the
ball on several occasions. Once again Conor came to the Colts rescue
with more outstanding blocks in front of goal. Unfortunately two more
goals in the second period gave the home team a worthy 4-0 win. Head
up to the boys and let’s put this one behind us.
Conor Dardis the Man of the Match award.

Boldmere Falcons U10's: 1
Four Oaks Boys U10's: 0
A lovely morning for football, the first half was a relatively tight
affair with Boldmere having the better possession and several clear
cut chances falling to their strikers without them managing to convert
one. In the second half Boldmere took a firmer grip on the game and
a number of fine passing moves carved open the Four Oak's defensive
line. Harrison Coe fed a superb pass through to Tommy West who cut inside
the final defender before firing the ball home into the far corner.
Boldmere continued to press Four Oaks and they won a well deserved penalty,
the Four Oaks keeper made a fantastic save to keep it at 1-0.

Boldmere Falcons S&S : 0
Boldmere remain top of Division C after a hard fought draw in a game
of limited chances on a compact and bumpy pitch.
Lyndon seemed content playing constant long balls to a lone striker at the start of the game with 4 players in midfield backing up their tall defender, whose job was to punt the ball as far up field as possible.
Boldmere did manage to get in behind the home defence with some excellent build up play involving Declan Whiting, Jamie Smith and Niall Brennan only to be denied by the Lyndon keeper. A run from Harry Simper down the right wing created another chance for Boldmere, as they tried to make the crucial breakthrough that would have opened up the game, but Matthew Brown was only inches away from the ball when Harry crossed into the penalty area.
A number of dubious refereeing decisions didn't help Boldmere's cause as the ref obviously didn't want to upset his grandson and was easily influenced by the home supports appeals throughout.
Boldmere felt confident going into the second half and were in control for large periods, but were once again denied by the Lyndon keeper and a number of near misses.
The Boldmere defence of Kieron Williams, Lewis Barratt, Rory Doherty and Jodie Mason played their part in keeping a clean sheet, with Frankie Barrett, in goal not having to make one save throughout the whole game. Frankie's distribution from goal kicks helped keep up the pressure on Lyndon, limiting the home team to an occasional breakaway and the odd gift wrapped free kick.
A good away point gained against a team hoping for promotion at the end of the season, although Boldmere were disappointed that they couldn't take all three, with the home side more than pleased with their share of the spoils.
Player of the Match went to Jamie Smith
for an solid all round display in midfield and defence.

Boldmere Falcon Colts U10’s: 3
Boley Park B U10’s: 0
The Colts continued their fine start to the season on another lovely
sunny morning at home. Boley Park B started the brighter of the two
teams, forcing two corners in the first two minutes. Despite the pressure,
Alistair Wells and Brad Priddey held firm and denied Boley Park a direct
shot on goal.
With Boldmeres first attack of the game, they went ahead. The ball was
cleared from a Jake Freeman corner to Ethan Caballero on the edge of
the area and his shot was charged down, but it fell to Ben Caughtry
who turned and shot in one movement to open the scoring.
Within two minutes, Boldmere were two up and what a team goal it was.
Alistair Wells playing in defence, started the move by passing the ball
into the Boley Park half to Jake Freeman, Jake let the ball run through
his legs deliberately so that it would go to Liam Nevin, a superb piece
of skill that completely fooled the whole of the Boley Park defence.
Liams first touch was excellent and he pulled the ball back to the edge
of the box, where Ethan Caballero ran onto the ball and struck it first
time in to the bottom of the net. Carlsberg dont do goals, but if they
did, this would be the one!!
Another quickly followed and it was superbly created by Ben Caughtry,
who was occupying two defenders full time. Ben beat his man down the
right wing and fired in a low hard cross, and Ethan Caballero ran onto
it and flicked it with the outside of his left foot over the Boley Park
keeper for a wonderful goal.
Just before half time, Boley Park had a great shot that was flying into
the top corner, tipped over by George Smith. It was a save made more
remarkable by the fact that George had not had anything to do for at
least 10 minutes.
After half time, Boldmere continued to probe, with Jack Whitehouse flying
down the right wing, creating problems for the Boley Park left back.
Boley Park never gave up, but were limited to long range efforts, mainly
because George Jenkins in defence, and Frazer Austin in centre midfield
were defending superbly for the team.
Frazer Austin even managed to get himself into several good positions
to score, but was thwarted by some good defending. Boldmeres man of
the match was Ben Caughtry, who led the forward line from sideline to
sideline. He ran Boley Park ragged and deserved more than his one goal
talley.
A quick word for Boldmeres defence, it is now 120 minutes since they
concede a goal, and though everyones job is to defend when the opponents
have the ball, George Smith in goal is well supported by Brad Priddey,
George Jenkins, Alistair Wells and Frazer Austin, who have all played
in defence so far this season.

Boldmere went into this open cup match
looking to renew the rivalry with Wychall that we have seen over the
last couple of seasons & maintain their 100% start to the season.
Immediately from the kick off the Falcons put their opponents on the
back foot & dominated play. The home side began to rack up the chances
& it was no surprise when they took the lead with a well taken finish
from top scorer George Grigg. Wychall were struggling to get out of
their half and Boldmere pressed home their advantage after a number
of near misses when Joe Burke finished smartly to make it 2 – 0. As
half time approached the visitors goal was under constant bombardment
and the Falcons reward came after a wicked Jack Lowe cross was turned
into his own net by the Wychall defender. Half time came with no notable
attempt on the home goal as the Boldmere defence mopped up anything
that came their way.
The second half continued as the first
half ended with Boldmere well on top dominating midfield. Despite the
home side’s superiority there was a long period of the game where
try as they might the ball just wouldn’t go over the line with one
effort cleared desperately off the line and the Wychall keeper making
several good saves. The only effort in the entire game on the Boldmere
goal saw Jacob Beeke make a fantastic save to push the ball over the
bar. However it was just a matter of time before the Falcons hit the
back of the net again and both Harry Morris & Finley Sadler showed
enormous strength & ability to finish superbly taking the Falcons
five goals up with no reply from the visitors. A superb performance
from all the lads which gave the opposition no chance and showed signs
of the level of performance they are capable of producing. The Royal
Mail Sports Foundation Man Of The Match was awarded to Ryan Bevan for
a superb defensive display.
